L3 IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for an IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As the IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of IT systems and infrastructure for our managed services customers.
What you will be doing:
- Act as the primary escalation point for all system and infrastructure issues, delivering resolution within SLA response and resolution times
- Design, implement, and support a wide range of IT systems and infrastructure technologies, including:
- Servers
- Networks
- Storage
- Virtualization
- Cloud computing
- Security
- Maintain and support existing IT systems and infrastructure, including:
- Installing and configuring updates and patches
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Performing regular maintenance tasks
- Monitor and troubleshoot IT systems and infrastructure issues, including:
- Identifying and resolving performance issues
- Investigating and resolving security incidents
- Providing support to customers during outages and other incidents
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure that IT systems and infrastructure are meeting the needs of the business
- Implement security best practices to protect IT systems and infrastructure from cyberattacks
- Work with customers to understand their business needs and develop IT solutions to meet those needs
- Take ownership, monitor, and maintain IT systems and networks
- Document and track all support tickets
- Escalate complex issues promptly following set escalation process
- Provide training and support to other technicians and engineers
- Report activities to the IT manager and coordinate with relevant teams to provide support for systems and applications, and implementation of projects
- Stay up to date on the latest IT technologies and trends
- Provide procedural documentation and relevant reports for process standardization and proper work handover
- Comply with company policies and procedures to upkeep the quality and integrity of the Create IT brand, values, and services
- May take up client site duties, and weekend and/or holiday shift work
- May undertake other tasks and duties as necessary and required
What you will have:
- Comprehensive experience with various IT infrastructure and systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems and applications, computer hardware and peripherals
- Extensive knowledge of the installation and configuration of computer network components – routers, switches, firewalls, access points, cabling, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of computer network design, security, virtualization, and automation
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, O365, and SharePoint administration
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience in deploying and managing servers, SANs, volumes, and shares
- Extensive knowledge of VPN, and remote support tools and technologies
- Knowledge of domain and hosting services
- Expertise with backup and disaster recovery tools, solutions, and processes
- Experience with PBX and CCTV systems
- Knowledge of IT security best practices, solutions, and technologies
- Expert in monitoring and troubleshooting IT systems and network infrastructure issues
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and processes
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, and ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-focused attitude and commitment to providing excellent service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and/or relevant field
- IT certification that validates skills required to manage and optimize computer networks
- IT certification that validates skills required to manage and support cloud solution areas
- 5 years in an IT systems and network administration role
